Abre Centro de Atención a Solicitantes en Piedras Negras, Coahuila.
Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas a 14 de junio de 2012 —- El Consulado General de Estados Unidos en Nuevo Laredo se complace en informarles que el nuevo Centro de Atención a Solicitantes (CAS) abrió sus puertas en Piedras Negras, Coahuila, el día de ayer 13 de junio.
La nueva sucursal en Piedras Negras está ubicada en Blvd. Mendoza Berrueto # 2614 local # 9, Colonia Mirador. Los horarios que manejará el CAS durante el mes de junio son: de lunes a viernes de 7:00 a.m. a 4:00 p.m. y los sábados de 8:00 a.m. a 1:00 p.m.; y en julio se abrirá de lunes a viernes de 8:00 a.m. a 5:00 p.m. y los sábados de 8:00a.m. a 1:00 p.m. Los teléfonos del call center para programar una cita son: (867) 233-3638 y el (867) 454-5540.
Cabe destacar que en el CAS no se programan citas ni se proporciona información de ningún tipo, el centro está únicamente para recibir a las personas que tienen programada su cita para tomarles las fotos y las huellas digitales.
Durante su primer día en función el CAS recibió un total de 41 solicitantes; y se espera que este número incremente a medida que pasen los días y que los ciudadanos de Piedras Negras, Coahuila y la región se enteren que ya hay citas disponibles en este centro.
Como recordatorio, queremos mencionar que el proceso del trámite de visa no sufre ningún cambio. Los solicitantes deberán seguir el mismo proceso, tal y como lo estipula nuestro sitio de web: http://nuevolaredo.usconsulate.gov/. Todas las decisiones concernientes a la emisión o negación de una visa seguirán tomándose por Oficiales Consulares de Estados Unidos. Las entrevistas para el trámite de visas, si es que se requiere de una, se llevarán a cabo en el Consulado General de Estados Unidos en Nuevo Laredo.
La fecha de la inauguración oficial del CAS está por determinarse.

Applicant Service Center opens in Piedras Negras, Coahuila.
Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, June 14, 2012— U.S. Consulate General in Nuevo Laredo is pleased to announce that the new contract Applicant Service Center (Centro de Atención a Solicitantes – “CAS”) opened its doors yesterday, June 13, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila.
The new center in Piedras Negras is located on Blvd. Mendoza Berrueto # 2614 local # 9, Colonia Mirador. Their work hours on June will be from Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; and in July they will be open from Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The phone numbers for the call center to program an appointment are the following: (867) 233-3638 y el (867) 454-5540.
Appointments for visa applications are not programmed at the CAS, nor do they give out any type of information at this location; the new center only receives people who have an appointment scheduled to get their digital photographs and their fingerprints taken.
During the first day of service the CAS assisted a total of 41 applicants; this number is expected to grow as soon as the residents of Piedras Negras, Coahuila and the region find out that there are already appointments available at the center.
The visa application process will not change. Applicants will follow the same procedures as outlined on our website http://nuevolaredo.usconsulate.gov/ However, once the CAS in Piedras Negras opens visa applicants will have the option of choosing that location when making their visa appointment.
All decisions regarding the issuance or refusal of visas will continue to be made by Consular Officers of the United States. Visa interviews, if required, will still be conducted at the Consulate in Nuevo Laredo.
The date for the official inauguration of the new CAS is still to be determined.
